Coaching is not a set of advice I hand out. It is a process that gets each person to their own plan to move toward what they truly want. Here is what that has looked like for some clients.
Fresh start
A client was amazing at their job and miserable. We worked through a framework to lay out what they truly wanted. They realized they could not go half measured. Within a few weeks they launched their own venture, sold everything, and moved. Was it easy? No. But they have never been happier.
Contentment where you are
A client wanted to figure out their next career move up. Working through their core foundation, and what they truly wanted, it became clear they loved their job. Most of the pressure to climb was coming from outside. Past experience, family of origin, and other pressures that were not even real. That led to a deep peace and contentment, and then to a new plan to mold their current position into the work and the value they wanted.
How to get from here to there
A start-up entrepreneur far exceeded their goals inside a year. A good piece of it came from a scorecard we built together. We built a set of client profiles, then set lead goals they controlled, which drove the lag results to reach those clients.
Step into the uncomfortable
Shortly after starting their business, an owner was troubled that another owner within the network seemed to be upset with them. As time went on, it was clear they had an ax to grind. The client was bothered by this for months, and it only got worse.
As we worked through it, two things became clear. They needed to stop writing the script for why this person had an issue with them, and they needed to have an honest and open conversation. We worked through the Know Honesty model, using the practices to think about how The Wall and Fake You might derail the conversation that needed to happen.
They finally felt equipped to have it. It turned out the other owner was operating on information that was not only false, it had come from a third party entirely. They came to an understanding. Not a perfect one, but amicable and professional.
The biggest win: the client did not have to wonder any more, and they knew they had done all they could to restore a healthy professional relationship.
